SUN Haiqin

SUN Haiqin, PhD in translation studies with research focus on interpreting theory and translation pedagogy, conference interpreter, university lecturer. Doc. Sun got the Conference Interpreter Certificate co-signed by senior interpreters of the United Nations, the European Union and Shanghai International Studies University (SHISU) in 2011. For more than a decade, she has been providing interpreting service for international events and has been teaching interpreting in universities. From 2003 to 2012, she was a teacher in Zhejiang Normal University. Since 2013, she has been teaching in the Graduate Institute of Interpreting and Translation of SHISU, where she also got her master’s and doctoral degree in 2006 and 2012.

Doc. Sun has participated in many training-of-trainer courses. In 2008 and 2009, she attended national TOT courses for teachers of MTI, Master in Interpreting and Translation. In 2010, she joined a one-month course in teaching English and American culture in the University of San Diego. In 2012, she worked for three months as a Chinese scholar for DG Interpretation of the European Commission in Brussels, Belgium. She also participated in several research projects and edited the textbook A Basic Course Book of interpreting.
